In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, Bestower of Mercy,
 
From the Reasons of Divorce by Sheikh 'Abdul 'Azeez ibn Baaz, may Allah have mercy upon him [Source below]:
 
Question: What are some of the reasons for the occurence of divorce from your eminence's point of view?
 
Sheikh Bin Baaz answers: Divorce has numerous reasons for it's occurence.

From them;
 
1: A lack of harmony between the spouses, so as a result there isn't any love between either one of them.
 
2: From them; Bad conduct from the women or her lack of listening and obeying her husband in that which is ma'roof (all that is good).
 
3: From them; Bad manners by way of the husband and him oppressing the woman. And him not being just and equitable with her.
 
4: From them; Him not being able to fulfill her rights or her not being able to fulfill his rights.
 
5: From them; Both spouses falling into sins (constantly without making toubah or istighfaar) or even if it's just one of them. Hence their situation will become uglified due to that. Until the end result of it will be divorce.
 
6: The husband using drugs and/or intoxicants or the wife engaging in such forbidden acts.
 
7: A bad relationship between the wife and her husbands parents or simply one of them. [TN: This similarly applies to the husband and his wifes' parents also.] And a lack of utilizing intelectual procedures when dealing with them (i.e. the parents) or one of them.
 
8: From them; The women having a poor concern for her hygiene and her scarcity of looking appealing to her husband by wearing nice clothing and the usage of perfume and pleasant speech and a cheerful face when the two meet and gather with oneanother.
